One of the people who honored him was Nigerian gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey. He wrote that Ron Kenoly inspired many worship singers, including him. He said he grew up listening to Ron’s songs, and now new people are growing up with the songs of today.

Ron Kenoly was born on December 6, 1944, in Coffeyville, Kansas. He started singing in a Baptist church as a young boy. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force. When he left the military, he explored different music styles before fully giving his life to worship ministry in 1985.

By the late 1980s and 1990s, he became a global worship leader. His live worship gatherings were huge and reached churches across the world, especially in Africa. His 1992 album “Lift Him Up” became a massive success. It sold over 500,000 copies and earned Gold certification. At that time, it was one of the fastest-selling worship albums ever.
